About This Game A girl crashed into a dark forest not knowing where to go, curiosity drives her to open a Pandora’s box that was never meant to be opened. Evie is a short first-person horror narrative that unfolds a mind-boggling event, set in the middle of an eerie forest that was left undiscovered for good reasons. The story starts off by reading diaries left in an abandoned house by a lady named Evie. As a player, you will quickly realize that great tragedies hit her life and uncontrollably fell into a downward spiral of despair.This game was a 3 months project made by Yasuka Taira (me) and Kensuke Hayashi (HS student and a student of mine.)Kensuke helped me write the story (diaries and documents.)I did all the visuals and designing.Shoutout to everyone who's helped us :DDue to my work and Kensuke's school, we were only working on it for 3 hours a day. It`s going to be short (around 30 minutes) but the graphics are very pretty, the background music and atmosphere are nice and the story is very enticing. It`s just a shame the developer didn`t make it longer, this story had huge potential.. MINOR SPOILERS] The atmosphere is fantastic, especially if you like rain, and the graphics look like something from an AAA game. Simply exploring the very small world was fun and pretty much all the gameplay. The story is touching but also dark. You discover the backstory of the world by finding notes scattered around.Most of the game consists of finding enough notes. The notes may be a bit too tough to find. The game is short, it took me 1.5 hours to finish. The game could be even shorter, considering that it may just be me that sucks at finding notes.The game is quite bugged but it's nothing game breaking so don’t let this stop you from playing it.. For a small 2 person project it was ok. The gameplay is rather simple but glitchy and the camera is position way too high so it feels like youre floating the whole time. You can can stuck and have to start over and its really really short. Theres one small puzzle if you want to call it that. The athmosphere is nice the ending was kinda obvious but the ending after the ending left some questions. I wish I could give it a mixed since I felt this was more a demo of some sort then a full game.Maybe future projects will have more content, maybe voice acting even! Id say the game could have been saved with a nice voice reading the notes with emotion to make us feel more. But as the game is I would only recommend it on sale.. A competent but poorly-written student-teacher game project that has zero original ideas.. The description of Evie is not what this game ends up being. I was quite enjoying the story, actually, until its ending which came out of nowhere and made little sense considering the clues that are given. Graphically, I'd give this a passing grade - 50%. The blurry black and white scenes are too dark and hard to interpret. And the end scene: I had a hard time figuring out what I was looking at before the loading screen took over.. I don't believe its anything new, but the way it was portrayed is what really got good. Its a short story about a girl who crashes her bike in a tiny forest. You look around and notice a apartment building. you go and follow the pages to discover the story that follows and a little twist ending. for the price eeh but i also know only 2 people made this game with no prior programming knowledge so this is very excellent. This is one of the best walking simulators I’ve ever played. You get to walk around and read papers. My mom comes in and left without saying anything. The next day she bought me many books.. The whole thing is way too dark and unplayable for me. I know there are just two people in the dev team but this was a waste of time and money. Lets hope your next game is much better.. Really nice game and you don't have to pay much, it's a little bit short but the story is really interesting. Because of the details, you want to look in every corner of the room, sorry for my english, if there are any mistakes :)
